Ceremonies

At Ferrari's Country House Hotel, we are licensed venue for the solemnization of civil marriage Ceremonies and Civil Partnerships, under the jurisdiction of the Lancashire Registrars’ Offices.

The Ceremony itself can be held within the Main Building or within the Dove Cote. Dependent on numbers, you can choose from two licensed rooms in the main building. The Typical Layout is illustrated below. We also have our spectacular Dove Cote, which allows couples the rare opportunity of an outdoor civil marriage Ceremony / civil partnership. Unique to Ferraris, the dove cote is a permanent building situated in our beautiful gardens with stunning views of the surrounding fells. It makes the perfect back-drop for your wedding.

To book a civil ceremony, you must call the Registrars (Tel: 0845 0530021). They will explain all the details and deal with all the formalities. The ceremony itself can be as simple or elaborate as you choose, as long as there is no religious element. You are allowed to include music, readings and special vows. However, please make sure that the Clitheroe office is happy with all the arrangements beforehand. Generally, most couples choose three pieces of music, one for the bride to come in to, one for the signing of the registers, and one to leave the room as man and wife.

There is a charge for holding the ceremony - This includes the use of the Bridal Suite for the day (should you want to get changed here). Please be aware that it may not be possible to have the Bridal Suite before 12 o'clock. For further details, please download our wedding pack.

The capacity of the ceremony rooms depends on how many people are seated or standing. We can only guarantee a maximum of sixty seated places: however, there is standing space for additional guests. The typical layout is illustrated in the wedding here, as well as in the wedding pack.
